About Krista

A number of years after embarking on my own path of healing, I discovered the “medicinal” value of the creative process. I enrolled in California Institute of Integral Studies’ Expressive Arts Therapy Program and received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy in 2006. I spent the next several years continuing my post-graduate education as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. During this time, I worked in a variety of settings with people from all walks of life – elders with Alzheimer’s, at-risk youth, trauma survivors, dually-diagnosed women and people living with brain injury are among them. I became licensed in 2011.

Over the last few years, my journey has led me to explore other healing modalities. I completed coursework in acupressure and energy medicine at the Acupressure Institute and currently study Depth Hypnosis and Applied Shamanism with Isa Guiccardi at Foundation of the Sacred Stream.

I’m also actively deepening my understanding of mindfulness practices, both in my personal life and in my practice. Over the last several years, I’ve attended a number of day-long trainings at Spirit Rock and East Bay Meditation Center. I also received training through the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine’s professional series “Making Mindfulness Work”, which features experts in the field of mindfulness-based practices and their application to clinical work.
